Main Function:

The Demand Planner will also be working closely with the warehouse and other Supply Chain departments to ensure stock levels are maintained to satisfy customer requirements while forecasting and controlling stock levels, monitoring fast moving products, reducing slow moving stock, reducing obsolete stock

Duties & responsibilities

  • High level forecasting & planning, maintaining accurate records of forecasted orders
  • Collating information necessary for the generation of Supplier Orders and arranging collections from Suppliers
  • Liaising with offsite warehouses (2 in Dublin and 1 in Netherlands) teams to give advance notice of shipments to ensure the warehouse has the necessary resources and space for shipments/product
  • Following up on overdue orders, informing relevant personnel of any delays
  • Ensuring delivery dates are accurate on company ERP System
  • On a daily basis, processing purchase invoices.
  • Check invoices, delivery documents and timely resolution of all discrepancies.
  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of all creditors statements to purchase ledger on a monthly basis as per month end timetable.
  • Review daily Open PO report and investigate all alerts.
  • Update master data records on internal ERP system
  • Highlighting and solving master data related issues as indicated.
  • Stock replenishment and forecasting using MRP.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained at all locations at all times.
  • Maintain internal systems up to date with respect to transactions.
  • Review and recommend improvements to the stock management system.
  • Monitor inventory levels, lead times, FIFO, slow moving stock and produce management reports.
  • Generate purchase orders on ERP system and maintain open orders.
  • Tracking of materials and product through the supply chain.
  • Carry out inventory transfers from one location to another in line with company inventory policy.
  • Ensure production/goods inwards have receipted all stock deliveries accurately on a daily basis.
  • Manage stock counts including cycle count process ensuring all variances are investigated, explained and signed off on a daily basis including maintaining a suite of KPIs.
  • Manage inbound transport for all deliveries.
  • Problem resolution regarding packing slips, invoices, certs of analysis and country of origin information.
  • Working with third parties to create, coordinate, and manage shipments of raw materials.
  • Dealing with customer inbound queries.
  • Ensuring all appropriate documentation checks are carried out and adhering to customs regulations.
  • Propose improvements to systems, policies & procedures & implement same.

Skills and experience required

  • Ideally qualified in IPICS/IIPMM or similar third level qualification.
  • Strong forecasting and planning experience an absolute must!
  • Skilled in accurate record keeping, data entry and familiarity with inventory software.
  • A confident, commercially aware problem-solver with excellent written & verbal communication & interpersonal skills and an excellent telephone manner.
  • Numerate & financially literate. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Flexible, pro- active & able to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent computer skills including specifically: MS Office, Word, Excel as well as any Document Imaging & Mainframe Financial Systems.
  • Accurate, well-organized, self-motivated, capable of working under pressure & planning workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of developing & documenting policies & procedures to meet changes in the business.
  • Handle supplier queries.
