Job description

  • Lead the site Health and Safety program, ensuring legal compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring that all risk assessments and safe systems of work are up to date and relevant to the site operations.
  • Ensure the H&S systems on site are maintained.
  • Carry out specialist risk assessments such as Manual Handling, CoSHH and DSE to ensure that risks are reduced to meet standards, commercial and legislative requirements.
  • Support the site leadership team, as their Health and Safety business partner, to deliver H&S accountabilities and improvement plans.
  • Complete business risk analysis & sign off on all site related risk assessments with the support of line management to identify all key risks and make commercially viable recommendations to reduce such risks.
  • Assist the Site Training Coordinator in procuring training in line with the need’s assessments; specifically related to health and safety and deliver any in house health and safety training programs as required
  • Prepare H&S board reports.
  • Drive clear management accountability for H&S to deliver the annual improvement plan and injury reduction.
  • Supporting the site maintenance teams to ensure that all statutory inspections are completed, PPM programs are up to date and all machinery is safe to use in line with legislative requirements.
  • Actively assist in the Monitoring of Contractors on site and the Control of the Permit to Work System
  • Monitor emergency procedures and site fire safety arrangements in line with fire safety policy & risk assessment
  • Maintenance of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspection and review of suitable PPE and safety equipment.
  • Lead all communications with external authorities
  • Support the site in its cultural and behavioural changes, endorsing safety first mindset.
  • Implementation and accuracy of the Accident/Incident investigations to root cause prevention measures and management of claims
  • Management of near miss/ Non-Conformance systems, closing out to prevent future occurrence.
  • Ensure H&S aspects are accounted for in all appropriate projects, to minimize the risk of injury, ill-health or environmental damage / nuisance.

ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum 3yrs H&S Management Experience in Manufacturing
  • NEBOSH Qualified or recognized equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of NI and ROI Health and safety legislation
  • Experience multi-site organization
  • Proven influencing, coaching, communication and time management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Leadership of the function on site to drive the H&S agenda
  • Capable of working under pressure and is solutions focused.
