Job description

Our client is looking to recruit an Individual Giving Officer. The role will be based out of South County Dublin working on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Donor Prospecting & Engagement:
    • Identify and cultivate new individual donors through research, networking, and outreach efforts.
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing donors to encourage continued support and growth of contributions.
    • Tailor communication and engagement strategies to match the interests and giving capacities of individual donors.
  2. Fundraising Campaigns:
    • Plan, develop, and execute individual donor campaigns, including annual giving, major gifts, and one-time donations.
    • Collaborate with other team members to design fundraising events and activities, such as galas, auctions, and donor appreciation events.
  3. Donor Stewardship:
    • Acknowledge donations promptly and express gratitude to donors through personalized communication.
    • Provide regular updates on the impact of donations, ensuring donors feel valued and connected to the cause.
    • Develop and implement strategies to retain and upgrade existing donors over time.
  4. Database Management & Reporting:
    • Track and record donor information using a donor management system or CRM.
    • Prepare donor reports and analyze fundraising efforts to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
    • Maintain an up-to-date list of individual donor prospects and cultivate them accordingly.
  5. Donor Recognition:
    • Create and implement recognition programs, such as naming opportunities, donor walls, or acknowledgment in publications, to honor major and recurring donors.
    • Ensure donors feel appreciated and that their contributions are celebrated.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work with the marketing and communications teams to develop materials (newsletters, appeal letters, social media content) that promote giving opportunities and the organization’s mission.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to align individual fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
  7. Budgeting & Goal Setting:
    • Set and manage fundraising goals, monitoring progress towards meeting revenue targets.
    • Develop budgets for individual fundraising campaigns, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fundraising Experience: Experience in individual giving or fundraising, with a track record of successfully securing donations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging and motivating individual donors.
  • Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build long-term, positive relationships with donors.
  • Organization & Planning: Ability to manage multiple tasks and campaigns, while staying organized and meeting deadlines.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively and strategically to identify new fundraising opportunities.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with donor management software and CRM tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Passion for the Cause: Genuine enthusiasm for the mission and vision of the organization, which will inspire potential donors.

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years experience in a similar role a must!
