A dynamic and forward-thinking organization is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead a high-performing team in the building materials sector. This role requires someone with a strong background in customer service, operational management, and a deep understanding of the building materials industry. As Retail Manager, you will oversee daily operations, drive customer satisfaction, and ensure the team achieves set performance targets while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers and the public.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements, while continuously improving safety standards.

Develop and execute a customer service model that consistently meets the highest standards, anticipating and addressing customer needs.

Gather market insights and collaborate with operational and technical teams to drive business improvements.

Conduct thorough cost/benefit analysis before pursuing new business opportunities.

Set clear performance targets for the team and ensure these are met.

Manage and develop the retail team to foster a high-performing, efficient business unit.

Achieve operational excellence through the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Monitor stock levels and analyze sales performance to predict and respond to market trends.

Schedule deliveries, optimize transport logistics, and ensure processing of dockets.

Oversee daily cash reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy.

Report complaints, safety issues, and operational challenges to the Retail Manager.

Manage retail sales and cost reports for audit compliance.

Handle the issuance of purchase orders and liaise with suppliers and contractors.

File delivery dockets and timesheets accurately in relation to issued purchase orders.

Ensure the office runs smoothly and in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

Process orders efficiently and on time.

Perform other duties as required by the National Retail Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar management role within the building materials industry.

Practical knowledge of building materials
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Strong sales process discipline with a focus on achieving targets.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
High attention to detail and a proven ability to follow procedures precisely.

Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
