Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Manager to lead sales growth and customer engagement within a designated territory. This role requires a commercially focused, technically competent sales professional with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop strategic growth initiatives within the plumbing and heating industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of products and services within the assigned region, ensuring targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Manage and develop relationships with individual business owners, national merchants, installers, and plumbing contractors.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers regarding sales queries.
  • Provide product advice and light technical guidance; confidence in engaging with plumbing contractors is essential.
  • Manage a defined sales territory with a strong focus on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Develop, build, and maintain excellent relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Identify and maximise opportunities through proactive networking and market engagement.
  • Implement and communicate a local strategic business plan aligned with company objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and effectively communicate with business owners and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate internally to support the development of new technologies and innovative route-to-market strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional working relationships with internal support departments.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager on forecasting, pipeline management, and future growth planning.
  • Support and assist in the implementation of company marketing initiatives as required.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 4+ years’ Sales Management experience.
  • Light technical knowledge required but a dedicated engineer will support
  • Proven track record of delivering results and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in developing and executing a Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven.
  • Dynamic, results-oriented, and commercially astute.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with business owners and senior decision-makers.
  • Relevant third-level qualification desirable, or equivalent industry experience.
