Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Manager to lead sales growth and customer engagement within a designated territory. This role requires a commercially focused, technically competent sales professional with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop strategic growth initiatives within the plumbing and heating industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of products and services within the assigned region, ensuring targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Manage and develop relationships with individual business owners, national merchants, installers, and plumbing contractors.
- Act as the first point of contact for customers regarding sales queries.
- Provide product advice and light technical guidance; confidence in engaging with plumbing contractors is essential.
- Manage a defined sales territory with a strong focus on customer acquisition and retention.
- Develop, build, and maintain excellent relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Identify and maximise opportunities through proactive networking and market engagement.
- Implement and communicate a local strategic business plan aligned with company objectives.
- Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and effectively communicate with business owners and decision-makers.
- Collaborate internally to support the development of new technologies and innovative route-to-market strategies.
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional working relationships with internal support departments.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager on forecasting, pipeline management, and future growth planning.
- Support and assist in the implementation of company marketing initiatives as required.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Minimum 4+ years’ Sales Management experience.
- Light technical knowledge required but a dedicated engineer will support
- Proven track record of delivering results and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in developing and executing a Strategic Sales Plan.
- Highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven.
- Dynamic, results-oriented, and commercially astute.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with business owners and senior decision-makers.
- Relevant third-level qualification desirable, or equivalent industry experience.
