Our client is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join their HR team. This role will focus on providing expert guidance and support to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, while managing complex cases from initial consultation through to resolution.
The successful candidate will play a key role in mitigating organisational risk, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice, and building strong relationships across the business. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with a strong employee relations background to make a significant impact within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and supervisors on a broad range of employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and best practice.
- Manage and lead a varied caseload of employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, absenteeism, probation, performance management, dignity at work, and other workplace matters.
- Support managers through complex people-related challenges, ensuring a fair, consistent, and commercially focused approach.
- Conduct thorough case management from initial investigation through to resolution, maintaining accurate documentation and mitigating organisational risk.
- Deliver employee relations training and workshops to managers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage people issues.
- Provide guidance on early intervention strategies to proactively address workplace issues and minimise escalation.
- Support and advise on disciplinary, grievance, and dignity at work processes, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and legislative requirements.
- Assist with representation and preparation for third-party hearings or external employment relations proceedings where required.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to review and enhance policies and procedures in line with employment law updates and HR best practice.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across operational and management teams to support positive employee relations outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business Studies, or a related discipline.
- CIPD membership or working towards membership is desirable.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience managing employee relations cases from initiation through to conclusion.
- Strong experience handling disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absenteeism, and workplace investigations.
- Excellent knowledge of Irish employment legislation and its practical application within the workplace.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and support managers on complex employee relations matters.
- Experience working within a large, multi-site, or complex organisation would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and trust at all levels.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Resilient, highly organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
