Job description

We’re looking for a Field Sales Representative who goes beyond relationship-building and quota-chasing someone who uses data and insights to deeply understand their customer base, identify opportunities, and drive smarter sales strategies. This role combines on-the-ground selling with analytical thinking to maximize territory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Territory Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts within an assigned territory
  • Segment customers based on behavior, value, and potential
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers
  • Plan and execute regular in-person visits with clear objectives

Analytical Sales Approach

  • Analyze sales data, customer trends, and buying patterns to identify opportunities
  • Use CRM and sales tools to track performance and uncover insights
  • Develop territory plans based on data
  • Monitor KPIs such as conversion rates, average deal size, and customer lifetime value

Opportunity Identification & Strategy

  • Identify high-potential accounts and prioritize outreach accordingly
  • Develop tailored sales strategies based on customer-specific insights
  • Spot opportunities using data signals
  • Anticipate customer needs through trend analysis

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting reports
  • Provide insights-driven updates to management (not just activity reports)
  • Track performance against targets and adjust strategies proactively

Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing to align on campaigns and lead quality
  • Share field insights to inform product development and pricing strategies
  • Collaborate with technical and operations teams for account growth

Key Skills & Competencies:

Sales Expertise

  • Proven experience in field sales, account management, or territory management
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles

Analytical Thinking

  • Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and CRM systems
  • Ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Customer Insight

  • Skilled at understanding customer needs beyond surface-level conversations
  • Ability to identify patterns in customer behavior and preferences

Tools & Technology

  • Experience with CRM platforms
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data analysis
  • Familiarity with sales analytics or BI tools is a plus

Communication

  • Clear and confident presentation skills

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Revenue growth within territory
  • Customer retention and expansion rates
  • Pipeline health and forecast accuracy
  • Average deal size and sales cycle length
  • Account penetration and share of wallet

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Curious and proactive asks “why” and digs into the numbers
  • Highly organized and disciplined in territory planning
  • Comfortable working autonomously in the field
  • Continuously looks for ways to optimize performance
