The Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced audiology professional to join the organisation as Head of Audiology – Ireland.

The successful candidate will act as the clinical leader and ambassador for audiology within the Irish business, driving clinical excellence, professional capability development, compliance, quality assurance, and the implementation of global clinical standards. This role combines clinical leadership, learning & development, stakeholder engagement, compliance oversight, and strategic influence to ensure the delivery of best-in-class hearing care.

The Head of Audiology will serve as the key link between local and global audiology teams, representing Ireland within international forums while partnering closely with the Hearing Aid and Diagnostics businesses to support innovation, product adoption, and clinical best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Standards

• Champion modern hearing care and clinical excellence across the Irish market.
• Drive the implementation and adoption of Global Clinical Standards of Care across the business.
• Ensure global best practices are embedded locally to enhance patient outcomes and customer experience.
• Act as the clinical voice of the organisation, providing expert guidance on audiological matters.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous clinical improvement throughout the clinic network.
• Represent Ireland on global audiology and clinical forums.

Learning & Development

• Design, develop, and deliver audiology, compliance, and product training programmes aligned to company methodology and global standards.
• Lead the annual Hearing Aid Dispenser Induction and Orientation Programme.
• Support Hearing Care Professionals (HCPs) and Clinic Coordinators in developing expertise in modern hearing care.
• Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) and contribute to the annual Learning & Development plan.
• Design and deliver learning interventions for both small and large groups.
• Support coaching, mentoring, capability-building, and talent development initiatives across the business.
• Work collaboratively with functional leaders to identify capability gaps and learning opportunities.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Design and implement a compliance framework, including audit and assessment tools.
• Support the leadership team in maintaining a safe, robust, and compliant operating environment.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, clinical, and professional standards.
• Monitor quality assurance measures and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.

Product & Commercial Support

• Collaborate closely with hearing aid and diagnostics teams on product launches, product adoption, and clinical innovation.
• Deliver product training and support commercial teams through technical expertise and education.
• Ensure clinician proficiency in new technologies and evolving hearing care solutions.
• Provide insights into customer and patient needs to support business growth and service innovation.

Change & Organisational Development

• Support the development of an agile, learning-focused organisation.
• Assist with change management initiatives that drive business performance and enhance patient care.
• Promote effective communication, decision-making, and information sharing across departments.
• Contribute to strategic projects aligned with organisational objectives.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Degree qualification in Audiology or a related healthcare discipline.
• Significant experience within audiology, hearing healthcare, medical devices, or a closely related healthcare environment.
• Experience delivering professional training, education, or learning and development programmes.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working within a commercial healthcare environment.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organisational change.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Desirable Experience

• Leadership experience within a multi-site healthcare organisation.
• Experience in hearing aid technology, diagnostics, or medical device product training.
• Experience developing learning frameworks, induction programmes, or competency assessments.
• Exposure to international clinical standards and global healthcare environments.
