Scope of the Role

The Health Informatics Sales Specialist is responsible for driving customer engagement, business development, and revenue growth across a comprehensive Health Informatics portfolio, including:

  • Information Management Systems
  • Integration and middleware solutions
  • Data rescue and legacy system migration
  • Digitisation and scanning solutions
  • Bedside, point-of-care, and workflow-enabling technologies across acute, primary care, and home-care settings

The role supports healthcare customers across the island of Ireland, spanning public, voluntary, and private healthcare providers.

Working closely with the internal Health Informatics and technical teams, the role focuses on identifying, developing, and converting commercial opportunities into long-term customer partnerships and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across the Health Informatics portfolio
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with commercial targets and strategic objectives
  • Lead opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial engagement to negotiation, close, and handover
  • Develop account plans and growth strategies for existing and prospective customers
  • Generate revenue growth through consultative and solution-led selling approaches
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting through CRM and internal sales processes

Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary commercial point of contact for Health Informatics customers
  • Build trusted relationships with clinical, operational, technical, and procurement stakeholders
  • Understand customer workflows, operational challenges, digital transformation priorities, and strategic goals
  • Position the organisation as a trusted long-term partner in Health Informatics and digital healthcare transformation
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and solution discussions tailored to customer needs

Solution Selling & Opportunity Management

  • Work collaboratively with technical and solutions teams to develop commercially viable solutions
  • Translate customer requirements into proposals, quotations, and tender responses
  • Guide customers through technology options and procurement processes
  • Ensure clarity around scope, timelines, commercial assumptions, and deliverables during the sales process
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions

Market Development & Industry Engagement

  • Maintain awareness of the Irish healthcare landscape, procurement frameworks, and digital health initiatives
  • Stay informed on developments in Health Informatics, interoperability, cybersecurity, and healthcare IT
  • Represent the organisation at customer meetings, conferences, workshops, and industry events
  • Identify emerging customer needs, market trends, and competitive opportunities
  • Provide market feedback to support product, service, and commercial strategy development

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Quality, and Technical teams to support sales and customer engagement activities
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales through implementation and ongoing customer support
  • Contribute to sales strategy, campaign planning, and business growth initiatives
  • Support internal alignment between commercial objectives and operational delivery capabilities

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Experience selling into healthcare, health informatics, laboratory, clinical, or healthcare IT environments
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness with an interest in sales, business development, or account management
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and pipeline management skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland

Desirable

  • Experience in healthcare IT sales, business development, or customer-facing commercial roles
  • Knowledge of Health Informatics systems, integration, interoperability, or digitisation solutions
  • Familiarity with healthcare procurement and tendering processes
  • Experience engaging with hospital, laboratory, or clinical stakeholders
  • Exposure to solution selling or consultative sales methodologies
  • Awareness of data management, system migration, or digital transformation projects
