Job description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysis and preparation of laboratory samples and reagents in accordance with laboratory test procedures.
  • The calculation and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.
  • Data entry into LIMS.
  • Calibration, equipment and balance checks.
  • Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.
  • Stock control.
  • Manage workload within given remit to meet client requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • A degree in Analytical Chemistry or a science related subject and 1-2 years laboratory experience.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

  • Experience using GC-FID or GC-MS systems would be advantageous.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Industry Experience.
  • Accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Good people skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability use initiative.
  • Good communicator.
  • Basic computer skills.
