Job description

Our Client is seeking an ambitious and proactive HR professional to join their People Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience across the full employee lifecycle, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will support key HR initiatives across recruitment, employee and industrial relations, talent development, employee engagement, and HR systems, helping to deliver a high-quality people service across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Support the attraction and recruitment of talent in line with business objectives and workforce plans.
  • Represent the organisation at career fairs, networking events, and other talent attraction activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and support effective recruitment processes.
  • Assist in building and maintaining talent pipelines, with a focus on early careers and business-critical roles.
  • Monitor recruitment metrics and contribute to the continuous improvement of hiring practices.
  • Prepare, review and issue employment contracts, policies, and onboarding documentation.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.

Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Provide HR support and guidance to managers on employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Support grievance, disciplinary, and workplace investigation processes in line with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Prepare documentation and represent the organisation at external forums, including Workplace Relations Commission hearings where required.
  • Advise managers on performance management, attendance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Support stakeholder engagement within a unionised working environment.

Talent Development

  • Support the design, coordination, and delivery of learning and development initiatives.
  • Assist with leadership development and early careers programmes.
  • Support graduate recruitment, mentoring programmes, and academic partnerships.
  • Contribute to talent review processes and talent reporting activities.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support HR process improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with compliance, ethics, and social responsibility reporting requirements.

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing

  • Support employee engagement, inclusion, and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
  • Assist with internal communications, including newsletters, employee platforms, and engagement campaigns.
  • Coordinate employee events and engagement activities.
  • Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community engagement programmes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR or Industrial Relations environment.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present HR data.
  • Experience working with HR systems; knowledge of SuccessFactors and/or Zellis would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to influence and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong business acumen.
  • A proven ability to drive initiatives and contribute positively to organisational performance.
  • A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
